Retained Search

A retained search assures customers a total commitment from StraussGroup to present a minimum of four to eight qualified candidates typically within six to eight weeks.

Each search begins with a designated team of at least three StraussGroup experts: an industry specific search consultant, a sophisticated research analyst (project coordinator) and dedicated administrative support staff. 

  1. Our process begins with the development of a formalized position description.
  2. Once completed and approved by our customer, we initiate a confidential recruiting campaign.
  3. We then connect with our network of employed candidates and other individuals identified through fresh research using sophisticated technology platforms.
  4. Comprehensive candidate reports are completed by the team for each ‘short list’ candidate. These documents include writing samples from the candidate, compensation histories, background information and full assessments by StraussGroup. 

StraussGroup meets face-to-face with every candidate we present
(either in person or — if it’s more efficient — through Skype technology).

We never “share” your candidates with other clients during the process. We perform thorough reference checks and coordinate criminal, credit, educational and employment background checks. Weekly or bi-weekly status reports are sent electronically to customers detailing the progress of each search. We offer an extended performance guarantee for all of our retained searches.

Most of our customers select a retained search model for Senior and C-level positions.
The primary benefit of this model is the total commitment from StraussGroup to fill each search. We have a 99% success rate.

StraussGroup requires an engagement fee to begin a search and a success fee at the completion of each retained search.
